Winter season is not only the one opportunity to get pleasure out of riding in Tahko Mountain. In summer time slopes open in June and lasts until October. It is a good opportunity for those who prefer an active tourism and like breathtaking activities during summer vacation.

Active Summer Season

Summer at Tahko Mountain offers a lot of activities and experiences: nine downhill bike trails, ranging from easy to difficult, and various mountain bike routes are available. For the summer of 2023, a new Mini Mountain practice area was created where beginners can explore the sport safely. Both children and adults who start biking can use either the T-bar lift or the covered conveyor belt lift to access Mini Mountain. The lift can take till 4 persons and bring on the top of the mountain where you will discover a fantastic view on the lake.
This area features three trails designed specifically for beginners. At Tahko Mountain, downhill biking is designed to be as safe as possible while still providing excitement and fun, with a vertical drop of just under 200 meters.

In addition to MTB routes, well-marked hiking trails abound. The Tahko stairs (Tahkon portaat) are also open for free use, featuring a 200-meter vertical climb and 600 meters of wooden stairs. The Tahko observation tower, built in fall 2019 atop Special-slope, stands 13 meters high, offering panoramic views from all directions.

Tahko offers excellent conditions for both adrenaline junkies and beginners who are interested in downhill biking. The Bike Park features nine distinct marked downhill trails: two black, two red, two blue, and three green.

There are lessons for beginners to improve your skills in downhill biking.

The lessons are available on the same days according to the schedule of the lift in the Park on WED, FRI and SAT at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00.

Parking at Bike Park

The closest parking areas are near the base and top stations of the lifts, allowing you to easily unload your gear and supplies right by the Bike Park. Set Google Maps to Tahko Bike Park & Scenic Lift as your destination. At the top station of the chairlift, you’ll find the Panorama Bar & Café, offering scenic views. On the opposite side of the slope area, Pehkubaari is reachable via a good gravel road along the ridge, about a kilometer from the top station.
