Visa Requirements for Finland

If you are planning to visit Finland for tourism, it is important to check whether you need a visa or if your current passport allows you to travel without any restrictions.

As a part of the Schengen Area, Finland requires a valid visa for entry. The exact visa requirements depend on your nationality. To learn more about the visa requirements and travel documents accepted by Finland, please visit the official Finnish government website.

If you are a citizen of a visa-exempt country such as Israel, the USA, the UK, Japan, or a Ukrainian citizen with a biometric passport issued after June 11, 2017, you only need a valid passport. In other cases, you will need either a visa or a residence permit.

For visa-exempt travelers, the passport or travel document must be valid for at least 90 days beyond your intended departure from the Schengen Area. Additionally, the passport should not be older than 10 years.

Remember, you can stay in Finland or any other Schengen state for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Travelers are also required to have health insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000, covering medical expenses, accident treatment, and repatriation in case of death.

To apply for a visa, complete the official form on finlandvisa.fi.
